What You Must Know About Laser Treatment for Eyes

I have put together a site dedicated to highlighting some important facts that everyone must know about laser treatment for eyes before deciding to take part in have the laser eye surgery procedure.

As long as we can remember, people have been trying all sorts of solutions to fix problems with their eyes.  Everyone is spending more time in situations which put high stress on our vision causing continual strain and dryness.  Computers are a major cause of the problem with some people looking at the screens for hours on end without even thinking about looking away to readjust their focus.

As these problems occur more often so does the need for extreme measures such as laser treatment for eyes to fix the problems.  This is very apparent not only in self conscious people who are worried about how they will look with glasses on but also for people who live in a lifestyle or have a job that just won’t permit the use of glasses.

The main 2 laser treatments for eyes are Photorefractive Keratectomy, more commonly known as PRK, and the popular laser-assisted in situ keratomileusis or LASIK for short (this is sometimes referred to as Lasic surgery, or lazik eye surgery.  Both of these laser eye surgery procedures use refractive laser surgery to remodel the surface of the eye to correct the problems that are causing the poor vision.  LASIK is the preferred treatment.  It involves cutting a flap on the eye to allow the laser to get behind to perform the remodelling.  PRK doesn’t require the flap but it is more painful and required more time for recovery than LASIK.

Both laser eye treatment procedures are relatively low risk but it is surgery so make sure you thoroughly discuss it with your doctor for the latest information.  You can also have a browse around the site to find more details about both procedures and some others that are starting to emerge.
